The Training and Placement Cell (TPO) of the Indian Institute of Telecom Management provides placement services to its students. At IITM, we recognize that one of the primary responsibilities of a professional educational institution is to build strong links with industry, commerce, arts, cultural bodies and other professions to ensure that the talents and skills of individual students are sharpened and their full potential is realized and rewarded by the world of practice.

We take utmost care in ensuring a student's progress from the moment he sets foot in the PCP Center. Not only that what you do after completing a course is all the more important to us the Institute is committed to enhancing the employability of all our students. IITM has built a robust and proactive Placement Cell that works in coordination with the students giving them direction and resources to acquire the necessary skills to secure that dream job.

At Institute, we have taken care to groom our students according to the needs of the industry. We seek to open frontiers of knowledge and reveal new horizons of change, to broaden mindsets and to create positive attitudes in our students. Our students get a lot of industrial exposure by their frequent industrial visits. We are in process to finalize with some of the reputed industries/ institutions/ organizations, for our students to undergo on the job training in their summer vacations (in India as well as abroad), as part of their academic requirements.

We encourage and help students take up summer training programs and paid internships with reputed professional organisations. It will help in inculcating the professional culture and exposing the students to the work environment of Indian industries. This is the major reason for its inclusion in the curricula of all the engineering disciplines in the Institute. This also provides an opportunity to the faculty of the Institute to interact effectively with the industries in academic, research & development and other activities. This process makes a powerful impression by exposing students to industry professionals and building contacts with them, which ultimately benefit them immensely for internships and placements.

The Cell is interacts with reputed industries/organization in Telecom to ensure not only practical summer training to our students for 6 to 8 weeks every year but their placement as well. Besides this it helps Institute to organize a number of industrial visits and education tours to various locations.

Besides IITM, being member of most industry and academic institutions at national and state levels, its Academic Council Members, the Board of Directors are members of institutions like FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM, PHD Chambers of Commerce, e.t.c. Through this association, IITM ensures constant student interaction with best professionals and leaders in their respective fields. Students also are encouraged to participate in seminars and other major events organized regularly by these institutions and organisations.
